There’s a lush, plush, high energy dining destination, Nitti’s, that recently opened in Hell’s Kitchen, at Ninth Avenue and 39th Street, close to the Lincoln Tunnel, The Fashion District, The High Line, and Hudson Yards Shopping, as well as Broadway and Off-Broadway theaters. Will, Nitti’s Proprietor, whose sons are busy in the West Coast Fashion business, along with the family’s restaurants in New York and New Jersey, has created a retro, 50’s Noir vibe, with bright red cushioned banquettes, floor to ceiling windows, antiques and art deco souvenirs at the expansive bar, and a warm, inviting ambiance. An antique gold cash register, souvenirs, like Nitti’s shirts and stickers, a gourmet bake shop, and brass figures that custom-match Nitti’s whimsical, dancing logo, adorn the space. Will and his sons have even custom-created a musical playlist to enhance your experience.

The menu has a mix of traditional Italian favorites, along with original creations. Nitti’s, named for Will (his nickname), is open for Lunch and Dinner daily, 11 AM until 12 AM, Monday through Thursday, and 11 AM until 2 AM, Friday through Sunday night. A Weekend Brunch starts at 10:30 AM. The bar at Nitti’s, in photos below, is your nighttime scene, after a movie, play, Broadway show, fashion shopping, pleasure walking, or a day at work. You can even stop by for fresh Pastry and Macchiato or Double Espresso at the bar. And, take some Tiramisu or Pistachio Chocolate Chip Cannolis home for a treat.

Nitti’s Lunch Appetizers and side orders include Arancini and Fried Calamari, as well as Bruschetta and Focaccia Paninis. Lunch Pastas include Tagliatelle Carbonara, with egg yolk, pancetta, onion & white wine, as well as Fagottini al Porcini, with sautéed porcini mushroom, cognac cream sauce & black truffle oil. Lunch Entrées are fantastic, like Chicken Francesina, with chicken thighs, egg battered, & lemon white wine sage sauce, as well as The Big Nitti Burger, with smoked mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, onion & sweet chili mayo, served with truffle parmigiana fries. On the impressive Lunch Menu, you’ll also find Salads, Pizzas, Desserts, and Refreshments, like their Fizzy Nitti’s (homemade ginger, raspberry, and lemon sodas).

Nitti’s Weekend Brunch features Main Dishes like Eggs Benedict, with hollandaise sauce & choice of Canadian bacon or smoked salmon, Vegetable Frittata with seasonal vegetables, and Smoked Salmon Platter, with cream cheese, mini bagel, onion, heirloom tomatoes & capers. I love their Brunch à la carte options, like Sliced Avocado, Vine Tomato, Smoked Salmon, and Market Berries. The Brunch desserts span the array of Nitti’s extraordinary Dessert Menu, like Bombolini, Banana Bread Pudding, Italian Cheese Cake, and Napoleon. Of course, all the Specialty Coffees and Teas are perfectly designed for Brunch, like Almond Milk Iced Latte and Cappuccino.

Dinner Appetizers will tempt you, like Brussel Sprouts, with cranberry, honey & walnuts, and Broccoli Rabe, with aglio olio, garlic & chili. Dinner Pastas also include Pappardelle Bolognese, with authentic bolognese sauce & black truffle oil, as well as Vermicelli Vongole, with sautéed manila clams, garlic, & white wine sauce. Dinner Entrées feature premium beef, seafood and fresh fish, like Branzino, a whole fish grilled, stuffed with fennel, orange & sage, Short Rib Polenta Souffle, with red wine gravy, NY Strip Florentina, with grilled herb marinated steak, and Red Snapper, sautéed in garlic olive oil, with zucchini cherry tomatoes, lemon and fennel.

The Late Night Menu features a wide selection of Appetizers, Bruschetta, Salads, Pizzas, Refreshments, and Desserts. Click Here for a Special Wine & Cocktail Menu, with an expansive list of Sparkling, Red, White, and Rosé wines, by the glass or bottle. Nitti’s beers are ordered by draught or bottle, while cocktails evoke Film Noir and New York’s retro style, when bars were elegant and often risqué. Nitti’s signature Cocktails include the Hell’s Kitchen Sour, Nitti’s Negroni, the Italian Mule, and the Bada Bing (details on the Cocktail link). And, don’t forget Happy Hour at Nitti’s, 4 PM to 7 PM, Weekdays! Also, you can order dishes delivered to your home or office, click here! Or, you can reserve a table at Nitti’s and know it will be waiting for you, click here!

It’s finally Spring, with birthdays, engagements, bridal events, sweet sixteens, graduation celebrations, and warm weather partying. Bring your date, friends, colleagues, and family to Nitti’s, or take yourself out to dinner and drinks at their exquisite bar! When you stop by Nitti’s on Ninth Avenue at 39th Street, ask for Will, and tell him you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
