Read a Testimonial Article about Thai Select.

Not wishing to risk watching the recent, 2017 Solar Eclipse with specialized eclipse binoculars that did not fit properly (and were returned), I headed immediately to Thai Select, where you can find comfortable spacious seating, a great lunch special, and a wide sleek table to neatly fit your dishes and tablet and hot spot. I ordered a Chef’s Lunch Special, with complimentary sparkling water. The Vegetable Dumpling and House Salad also came with the lunch, both excellently prepared. My entrée was Sautéed Shrimp, Shitake Mushrooms, and Rice, and I ordered extra hot sauce, as well. The dish was fantastic, so fresh and well spiced. To take time with the eclipse, I also enjoyed a Green Tea Ice Cream with Whipped Cream, a rare treat.

New York was experiencing a partial solar eclipse, at the same time, as New York was not exactly in the center of the moon’s shadow when it hit the earth, according to NASA. The sun, moon, and earth were not fully in the same line. So, the sun had a dark shadow on about three quarters of its surface. On my Samsung tablet, I could see a variety of live streaming events, but, as an educator, I thought the entire event was poorly organized. In fact, it was at the last minute that we were all warned to purchase special glasses or binoculars, which were then quickly sold out. More importantly, there was no consistent live stream event online with an exact narration to match the progress of the eclipse, especially for New York. Perhaps next time…

Meanwhile, while waiting for the next solar eclipse, stop by Thai Select in Hell’s Kitchen, 9th Avenue, 36th-37th, also at the edge of the Fashion District, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
