I recently caught up with David LaMarche, Conductor, American Ballet Theatre, for dinner in the theater district, and, afterwards, we were eager to try the cocktails at the vibrant new Cuban Latin Fusion restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen, Tumbao. Tumbao’s Manager, Paulo, was attentive throughout our visit. David ordered the Classic Bacardí Mojito, made with Bacardí Superior Rum, Muddle Limes, Fresh Mint Leaves, Brown Sugar, and Club Soda. I was in the mood for a glass of White Sangria, with fresh fruit and Chardonnay, among a few select ingredients. The drinks were perfect for a warm, balmy evening. We sat at a communal bar table near the festive, original murals of Cuban characters. Tumbao is your late night cocktail destination, and, while you’re there, try their Lobster Guacamole, or Arroz con Pollo, or a selection of Empanadas. Then, have another cocktail! You may spot a Broadway actor or Cabaret singer at the busy, Tumbao bar. Tell them you saw them on!
