In the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, an inviting, trendy space welcomes new and familiar faces every weekday morning and afternoon, with a Saturday brunch launching imminently. Shari, Proprietor, along with her chef and staff, greet guests with hot, organic coffee, English Breakfast tea, and a daily menu with specialty featured items. You can choose a window view table and relax with piped in eclectic music, or sit closer to the Better Being regulars and chat about the news and local theaters and concert halls. This restaurant is highly popular with actors, directors, choreographers, dancers, stage staff, and arts audiences, who live and work in the neighborhood. Because performers and those involved in performing and visual arts are so health conscious, Better Being has become their destination for tranquil, on-site meals, as well as takeout and catering. In fact, Shari and her Better Being staff are famous for their fantastic array of catering designs and international cuisine.

The daily Breakfast Menu, including takeout, lists Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, with blackberry butter and maple syrup, Fried Egg Tostada, with black beans, avocado, and salad, the 940 Omelette, with chimichurri chicken, spinach, tomatoes, and avocado, and Shakshouka, with baked eggs, tomato sauce, and avocado. Herbal and English teas are available, as well as freshly brewed, organic coffee. Underwest Donuts, with intriguing frostings, tempt the morning guests. The expansive Lunch Menu, including takeout, lists the Nuyorican, with caged free braised chicken, caramelized sweet plantains, avocado, romaine, and jalapenos in a tortilla wrap, the Charro, with seared chimichurri hangar steak, caramelized onions, arugula, and chimichurri on focaccia bread, and the Squashbuckler, with roasted butternut squash, manchego, pickled red onion, and sautéed kale on sourdough bread. Among the lovely salads is Grilled Salmon Salad, with mixed greens, red cabbage, shitake mushrooms, shallots, and vinaigrette.
