Walking into Meson Sevilla on Restaurant Row, you will see a festive bar, adorned with flowers and probably Spanish Jamón, Cheeses, Sangria, and a large selection of fine wines and liquors, many from vineyards in Spain. The theater community loves to dine before and after shows at this vibrant, carved wood bar, so close to all Broadway and Off-Broadway theaters. Since dinner is served until 11 PM Sundays through Thursdays, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, Meson Sevilla is the perfect before or after-theater dining destination for Tapas and drinks.

With a reputation for the largest Tapas menu in New York, you can use your imagination to conjure Tapas Frias (cold) and Tapas Calientes (hot). Both Adolfo (father) and Adolfo (son) are eager to suggest special Tapas of the evening, as well as favorites from the expansive menu. Among Tapas Frias, you’ll find Jamón Serrano, White Asparagus Vinaigrette, and Raw Clams on the half shell. Among Tapas Calientes you’ll find Croquettes, Filet Mignon Medallions, Grilled Sardines, and Galacian style Octopus. Clams Casino, Stewed Saffron Lamb Shank, and Spanish Sausage in Rioja Wine will tempt you as well. Within the main dining room, with intimate interior or window seating, you can start your lunch or dinner, or enjoy a celebration with friends, with a platter of Meson Sevilla Tapas and a glass of fine wine or pitcher of Sangria. Among those fine wines, Meson Sevilla frequently stocks the bar with regional reds, like Ribera del Duero, Tempranillo, and Mencia, and regional whites like Albariño, Ribeiro, and Rioja.

Soups like Caldo Gallego, with Chorizo, Potato, Collard Greens, and White Beans, and Salads like Sevillana, with Romaine and Fresh Vegetables Vinaigrette, can follow or be alternate choices to before-dinner Tapas. Among Fish and Seafood choices, you’ll find Gambas (shrimp) (Ai Ajillo, Salsa Verde, or Scampi) and Tilapia Marichiara (with Tomato Sauce, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Scallops). Traditional Paellas include Valenciana, with Shrimp, Calamari, Chicken, and Chorizo. Chicken and Meat dishes include Arroz con Pollo y Chorizo and Chuletas de Cerdo a la Riojana (Pork Chops with Tomato, Peppers, Onion, Wine). A Vegetarian Paella can be found in the healthy Vegetariano menu. You can order from the same menu for Lunch, Monday-Saturday (12-3 PM), and of course at the bar, as well as from Prix-Fixe menus.

Meson Sevilla also has a sidewalk table tucked under the awning for pleasant weather. For parties and events, you’ll want to explore the downstairs Private Dining Room, decorated in country tile, stucco walls, and Spanish décor. In fact, upstairs, you’ll see lovely art, depicting flamenco dancing, bullfights, and sunny Spain. Stop by Meson Sevilla for Drinks, Tapas, Lunch, Dinner, or to inquire about on-site Parties and off-site Catering. Tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
