I stopped by Boccone today for light tapas, fried artichokes with lemon capers aioli, and the best cappuccino in town. As always, the ambiance is warm and inviting. The photos below, of Boccone’s multiple seating spaces, some plush and intimate in the interior, some sleek and social in the bar entrance, illustrate the fine attention to design and detail in creating this first class restaurant for Mediterranean tapas and superb wine, beer, and cocktails. Boccone is open for lunch, dinner, before theater pinot noir and pasta, after theater martini and panini, and Happy Hours every day. Emily, Boccone General Manager, Michael, Executive Chef, and Joel, Boccone Bartender, will ensure that you and your dining companions not only have a fantastic time, but that you can’t wait to return. The expansive menus will tantalize your appetite and transport you to sunny Sicily.

Within Boccone’s incredible list of white wines by the glass, you will find Martinborough New Zealand and Pieropan Soave Classico. Red wines by the glass include Storypoint Cabernet Sauvignon and Susana Balbo Crios Malbec. The impressive list of bottled whites feature Domaine J.A. Ferret Pouilly Fuissé and Regnard Grand Chablis, while bottled reds feature Maison Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertin Burgundy and Renato Ratti Barolo Piedmont. Draft beers include Lagunitas Indian Pale Ale and Carlsberg German Pilsner, while Boccone’s bottled beers feature Meteor Pils, French Pilsner, and Schneider Weisse, Bavarian Craft Wheat Beer. And, don’t forget Boccone’s gorgeous, unique cocktails, like The Godfather (with Whiskey and Amaretto), Godmother (with Vodka and Amaretto), The Black Manhattan (with Averna, Bourbon), and Il Siciliano (with Classic Italian Limoncello).

Boccone’s generous Lunch Menu includes Chicken Milanese, Bistecca Di Manzo (with Au Poivre sauce and vegetables), and Classic Lobster Roll (with lemon aioli celery and chives on brioche). The Main Menu also features Linguine alle Vongole (with clams and white wine), Braised Pork on Brioche (with pulled pork and purple slaw), and Tuna Tartare (with fresh yellowfin tuna, avocado, capers, chives, and crème fraiche. Cold Tapas include Cured Meats, like Cacciatorino and Mortadella, and International Cheeses, like Manchego and Fontina. The endless list of Hot Tapas includes Cozzata (steamed mussels in white wine or al Pomodoro), Crostini Misti a Modo Nostro (Bruschetta of the day), Torre di Zucchini (fried zucchini), and Pulpo a la Gallega (grilled octopus with arugula and cherry tomatoes). Daily desserts are delectable.

Boccone, on Ninth Avenue between 38th and 39th Streets, is close to The High Line, to enhance your spring and summer outings, and close to the Circle Line and World Yacht cruises, Intrepid Museum, and Madame Tussauds NY Wax Museum. Boccone is also a short walking distance to the theaters on West 42nd Street, like American Airlines Theatre, The Pershing Square Signature Center, Theatre Row, and The Pearl Theatre Company, as well as theaters on West 36th Street and Broadway theaters throughout the neighborhood. Stop by Boccone, before or after a show or outing, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com!
