After thoroughly enjoying the new play at Studio 54, An Act of God, I strolled less than two blocks to the new, sleek NYC Diner & Bar, with its hand-painted murals of the New York skyline, its expansive bar with a view of the open chef's kitchen, multiple, private booths, a private back area for a small party, and a fabulous menu. I was in the mood for an omelette and chose the House Special Omelette, with goat cheese, tomatoes, onions, avocado, and mushrooms. The entire omelette is wrapped in a fresh crepe, topped with a slice of cheese. Instead of the potatoes on the side, I opted for a house salad, and my toast was seven grain. There's a fantastic wine, beer, and cocktail menu, within the full-service bar. For tonight, my Chardonnay was a perfect match.
NYC Diner & Bar is located right on Broadway, between 52nd Street and 53rd Street. Chef Tony, Manager, Elena, and staff note that they're "not your typical diner", and that's very true. The menu includes, in addition to half-pound, Char-Grilled Burgers and Shrimp Quinoa Salad, Beef Stroganoff, Pan Seared Cornish Hen, and Salmon Kebab. With their stylized interior, just steps from every Broadway theater in town, you'll feel like you walked into a Director's stage set. Every weekday, Monday through Friday, NYC Diner & Bar hosts 2 generous Happy Hours, from 4 to 6 PM, and from 10 PM to close! And, Friday and Saturday night, they're open until 1 AM, for after-theater partying. You can also order delivery, 3 PM to 11 PM.
Stop by NYC Diner & Bar, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com, for a complimentary wine or beer with your entree!
