Tonight, on a rainy June Saturday, Terrace in the Sky was bubbling with private parties and bountiful dinner guests. Richard, their harpist, was serenading the dinner crowd, and I and my two guests had a lovely evening. It was Madeline's birthday, and she and my niece, Camille, had joined me for New York City Ballet's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" earlier in the day. Camille enjoyed her "Shirley Temple" drink, while Madeline and I sipped Chardonnay.

For appetizers, Madeline ordered a delicate Asparagus Salad with Tomato Tatar, and I began with the Arugula Salad with Ecuadorian Shrimp and a hidden slice of French Ham. Camille had fresh vegetable crudités and Bow Tie Pasta, made to order. For our entrées, Madeline chose Black Garlic-Crusted Turbot with Candy Cane Beets, and I chose Arctic Char with Pixie Mandarin Scented Sunburst Squash. Our desserts ranged from my Trio of Homemade Sorbets to Madeline's Birthday Platter of Chocolate Tart with Chocolate Swirls and Fresh Fruit. Camille ordered a variation of Chocolate Swirled Ice Cream. Terrace in the Sky is the perfect party destination!

For your special occasions, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baby showers, corporate conferences or retreats, call Chris Bernic at 212.666.9490, and schedule a tour of Terrace in the Sky. Chris and his warm, friendly staff will help you design an elegant and personalized event, well within your budget. And, don’t forget to see their sky-view patio, where your event’s cocktails can be served. For summer dining, the patio is open with its own Outdoor Bar Menu. Be sure to tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
