The New York Botanical Garden has a Pre-Holiday Sale on some of its wide selection of children’s books and toys. In the “Kids” Department of The Shop in the Garden, there are “in the garden” gifts (such as color your own garden gloves, kids’ belt bags, kids’ watering cans, and kids’ windowsill gardens). There are “around the house” gifts (such as decorative wall cards, growth charts, child’s rockers, and rocking ponies). There are “games” (such as animal bingo sets, matching games, turtle mazes, and wooden puzzles). There are “friends” (such as snuggly bunnies, flower dolls, buzzy bug knitted dolls, and pull-along snails). There are “books”, (such as Bread Comes to Life, Snow, Sow and Grow, and Eco Babies Wear Green). There are “creating” gifts (such as color your own garden apron, flower fairy diaries, sketchbooks, and giant paper flowers). And, for older children, there are “science kits and such” (such as butterfly raising kits, eco-domes, secret sounds, and little science labs).
The New York Botanical Garden is easily accessible by train, private car, and car service. I took a Dial 7, Select 7, Car Service, and the ride was exceptionally fast. With a car service, you can shop till you drop, at The New York Botanical Garden Shop in the Garden, and have help getting your shopping bags and bundles back home.
