This CD is a fused and melodic pot pourri of Brazilian and Middle Eastern music, with exotic percussion provided by Israeli-born, Gilad, soulful guitar provided by New York-born Freddie Bryant, and stylistic piano provided by Moscow-born Misha Piatigorsky. One even hears Flamenco, Turkish, African, Ecuadorian, Greek, and Hungarian motifs in this eclectic, energized selection of original compositions. Clearly, the TWINZ recording equipment and environment are of superior standards, as the clarity and tone of this CD are exceptional.

Notable tracks:

#3 – Eucalyptus Air – Composed by Gilad. This piece opens with Gilad on solo flute, followed by guitar, cajón, and piano. This danceable, rhythmic work has decided Middle Eastern tonality and touch. The multiple percussive effects are engaging and build in volume, as Misha on piano carries the theme. I could imagine Egyptian belly dance, African dance, and Greek circle dances to this mesmerizing melody.

#5 – Promises – Composed by Misha Piatigorsky. With a percussive entrance, this piano-led composition fuses contemporary jazz with exotic ornamentation. Rather than the dance rhythm of track #3, this track is esoteric and ethereal. Misha makes the Steinway sing, in the softest passages, clearly caught by the TWINZ technical expertise.

#8 – Serena – Composed by Freddie Bryant. This lullaby-like track, with Brazilian percussion in a slow, hypnotic style, contrasts nicely to the more lively compositions. Freddie elongates the lush guitar passages with sounds of nature, like a walk in a rain forest.

#12 – Baiăo Da Gente – Composed by Misha Piatigorsky. This dynamic track, one of my favorites, includes the band on vocals, as well as danceable rhythms. Misha leads the theme with vivacity and playfulness, and the trio transports us to more exotic milieus.
