Elio Villafranca on elegantly restored Steinway, Richie Flores on congas, and Josh Robinson on cajón performed a selection of songs that combined traditional Cuban Music and Elio’s original compositions. Elio focused on 1950's Cuban “Descargas” style, in which pianists Frank Emilio, Pedro "Peruchin" Justiz, and Bebo Valdes were accompanied by bassist Israel “Cachao” Lopez. “Gustavo Tamayo and Tata Guinesin on congas were the masters”, says Elio, “and in a way it was a tribute to them”.
