Patelson Music House presented another great, live music event. Tonight’s classical musicians, Luellen Abdoo, on violin, and Arielle Levioff, on Yamaha piano, offered soothing Puccini arias, a Chopin Nocturne, music from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, a Beethoven Romance, and music from Sonatas, by Mozart, Handel, and Ravel. Ms. Levioff performed the Chopin on solo piano, with elegant rapture. Ms. Abdoo was splendidly featured in Vivaldi's Concerto, with numerous solos, and the Patelson fans were mesmerized by the richness of this concert.
Patelson guests were personally treated again to wines from 67 Wine & Spirits, by its Manager, Paul Bressler, and treated again to Bret Birnbaum’s Wine Cellar Sorbets, with several sorbets featured tonight in chilled delight. Patelson guests browsed sheet music collections and the new Patelson Gift Boutique, stocked for St. Patrick's Day shopping. This was, as always, a complimentary Open House, hosted by Marsha Patelson, and staff was on hand to help serve cheese and hors d’oeuvres. Several raffles were drawn, including a photo of Grieg, won by a loyal Patelson guest, Ruth Berk.
The next Patelson monthly event, part of the Wine Wednesday series, will also be Co-Hosted by 67 Wine & Spirits and Wine Cellar Sorbets, with choice red and white wines poured throughout the evening, plus a new wine sorbet. The date is April 2, 2008, with Yael Acher's "Junk Kat" & Modiano Jazz Standards, featuring Yael Acher (MODIANO)on flute, Yasushi Nakamura on double bass, and Ricky Gordon on percussion. The complimentary evenings begin at 5:30 PM and last until 7:30 PM. Stop by Joseph Patelson Music House, 160 West 56th Street, across from the Carnegie Hall stage door, and tell them you saw them on RobertaOnTheArts.com.
