Parents in Hell’s Kitchen and the Theater District are thrilled to have Kumon of Midtown West to guide their children, ages three and up, in math and reading. Not only is Kumon for remedial practice, but it’s also for advanced reading and math curriculum, so students can get ahead of their peers and feel confident and comfortable every day when they go to school. The Kumon Program is home-based methodology, with special Kumon worksheets that gradually become more complex, after a concept is introduced. This is a form of indirect teaching, creating connecting concepts between Kumon and daily school studies. The high level of praise and attentive reward is the most pure form of motivation, a catalyst for excitement to learn more and more, even three years above grade level. The Kumon class instructor enables students to develop higher order thinking skills, skills that they’ll have for the rest of their lives. Children will become more independent and task-oriented toward their work. For Pre-School children, they’ll experience reading and math concepts that will give them an early love for learning and a foundation for future school curriculum.

It’s not too late to bring your children into Kumon of Midtown West, and ask for Miss Kimberly or Miss Shari, so they can quickly make up for summer learning loss in reading and math. This way, in September, your children will be ahead of the review process and ready to tackle difficult material. Without strong reading and math skills, they would have a challenge with their books and workbooks in science and social studies. Without strong reading and math skills, they would have trouble with literature and poetry. And, without strong reading and math skills, they would have trouble with standardized testing, especially essays. That’s because to write essays, they would have had to absorb and integrate their reading material to a degree that gives them thinking skills and related content for writing mastery. The stronger math skills developed at Kumon will help in science experiments, problem solving, estimation, and numerical calculation. Every Kumon worksheet will be customized especially for your child, so they can work at their own speed. Children teach themselves how to advance to the next level of difficulty, thereby developing excellent work habits. The strong work habits of perseverance and organization, that your children will develop, will provide them lasting success. Once they’re used to overcoming new worksheet challenges, they’ll be ready and enthused to realize their potential in future academic goals.
